Our guest speaker for the month of January is Charles Bennett and the topic is “gardening to save the pollinators”. The club has been fortunate to have had Charles as speaker in the past. His presentations are lively and entertain and educate. We’ve never “stumped” him on a bee question yet!
Charles is current President of PNWQRC (Pacific NW Queen Rearing Club), teaches the Master Beekeeping classes for Clark County and is a past Vice President of the WSBA (Washington State Bee Keeper Association).
Charles grew up in rural Clackamas County, Oregon. After six years in the Air Force, Charles finished his higher education at Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon, earning a BS degree in Business.
Charles retired from financial planning in 2007 and was in search of something to keep him busy. He received his first hive of bees from a swarm and the rest is history!
Charles is the coordinator of his farm and an informative program about honeybees for children of all ages at schools and meeting places around Oregon and Washington. Charles may be contacted for speaking engagements by mail at, 8701 NE 159th Street, Battle Ground, WA 98604 or by phone 360 200-3093.
Charles’ presentation begins at 1:30pm. Snacks and visiting start before at 1pm; the club business meeting immediately follows his presentation. All speaker presentations are free and open to the public.
