Hays Freedom High School “Grant Visit”!

Sample of just some of the plants.

Members of the Community Garden Club of Camas/Washougal recently visited Hayes Freedom High School, a recipient of one of the club’s grants. Thanks to these funds, the school has been able to revitalize its community garden space.

The garden serves as a valuable learning tool for biology, chemistry, and food science. It also provides various other educational opportunities; for example, Spanish classes meet there to learn plant names, and other classes hold sessions in the garden when weather permits.

The students’ goal is to transform the garden into a self-sustaining ecosystem. They shared that they truly enjoy being outside and participating in this hands-on learning experience.
