Hathaway kids showing their garden!

Members of the “Community Garden Club of Camas-Washougal” recently visited the Hathaway Elementary School garden, one of the recipients of this year’s grants. They were greeted by pre-kindergarten and third-grade students who shouted out a big thank you to the club.

This grant provided essential supplies and plants for the garden. During the visit, students shared how they learned about bees, butterflies, and their vital roles as pollinators. The students have also been measuring and charting the growth of their plants, and they look forward to hosting a salad party during the last weeks of school.

As the club members prepared to leave, the students presented them with a lovely, large, handmade thank-you card.
