ANNUAL Greater Portland Iris Society Beardless Plant Sale!
Venue Portland Nursery Stark Street, 5050 SE STARK, Portland, Oregon.
September 17-18, Time 9-4.
Iris plants to be found at the sale: Siberian, Japanese, Spuria, assorted Species and Species-Crosses.
The workhorse of the perennial garden, the Siberian iris, can be found in many colors. The foliage, knee to waist high, holds its shape as a grass-like clump all summer long. Japanese iris with their large blooms are the last of the iris family to bloom. They require rich moist composted based acidic soils.
Some of the Species to be found are true shade-loving irises, some with evergreen winter foliage.
Other Species and the Species-Cross irises can be grown in difficult wet areas of the garden or in the pond.
Club members will be on hand to help with questions and with your selection.
