Our January speaker, Julie Carlsen, has been a Clark County Master Gardener for 17 years, helping to train new volunteers in the Master Gardener program and volunteering at the master Gardener Foundation Plant Sale as their “Perennial Princess”, leading perennial propagation efforts.
She also heads the “Dig Team” that coordinates finding plant donations for the Master Gardeners’ big May sale, coordinates for the “Bird Haven Garden” and is a nine-year volunteer at the Naturescapers “Wildlife Botanical Gardens” in Brush Prairie, WA. Obviously, she loves and knows plants!
Over the last 29 years, Julie’s 2 1/2-acre garden in Battle Ground has evolved to include perennials, vegetables and the addition of more native plants to her forested areas.
Join us as Julie teaches some basic skills on “Plant Identification”. Club meetings run from 1pm-3pm. Julie will speak from 1:30pm-2:15pm.
All speaker presentations are free and open to the public. You do not need to be a club member to attend speaker presentations. But, if you wish to join, membership is $12/yr.
