The “Community Garden Club of Camas Washougal’s” November meeting is ONE WEEK EARLY Nov 20th, starting at 1pm, to avoid conflict with Thanksgiving.
Following light snacks and a short business meeting, members make their own individual floral arrangements using materials from their own yards and gardens (and each others!) to take home afterwards.
Member Karen B. will be organizing the activity and she and many other talented club members will provide straightforward guidance on how to make a lovely arrangement.
The Club will provide limited materials including oases and some flowers. Members are encouraged to bring clippers and/or scissors, gloves, a container and “organic” materials.
CONTAINER IDEAS: vase, water pitcher, mason jar, wicker basket, pails, or even hollowed out pumpkins.
ORGANIC MATERIALS TO BRING and/or SHARE: fresh or dried flowers, twigs, leaves, branches (holly, cedar, fir), woody products, berries, pine and fir cones.
You may hang hydrangea and mum flowers and many other varieties – upside down – to dry now in an airy location at home. There are a LOT of mums on sale in our area presently. Buy a plant, snip off some or all the stems with flowers and hang them upside down to dry. Their flowers will fade as they dry, so, choose the more vibrant colors to maximize their final, dried colors.
Not a member? No problem! Anyone can join the club at any meeting. And any member of the public can attend meetings to hear speaker presentations without being a member.
