Three rain barrels were installed spring of 2017 at Helen Baller Elementary to complement an already existing garden tucked inside the school grounds.
Geri Rubano, Para Supervisor, Helen Baller Elementary, Camas, developed the “Rain Water Collection System for School Gardens” to add the barrels to collect water from the school buildings to be used to water portions of the student’s existing gardens at the school.
The Community Garden Club of Camas Washougal funded the rain barrel project via their “Grants” program for local schools.
