“Gardening to save the pollinators” – Charles Bennett – May 25 @ 1pm

Bee in garden August 2013_325hOur guest speaker for the month of May is Charles Bennett.  Charles is the current Vice President of the WSBA (Washington State Bee Keeper Association) and past President of of PNWQRC (Pacific NW Queen Rearing Club).

Charles grew up in rural Clackamas County, Oregon. After six years in the Air Force, Charles finished his higher education at Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon, earning a BS degree in Business.

Charles retired from financial planning in 2007 and was in search of something to keep him busy.  He received his first hive of bees from a swarm and the rest is history!

Charles is the coordinator of his farm and an informative program about honeybees for children of all ages at schools and meeting places around Oregon and Washington. This is our last general club meeting until August 24.  All monthly meetings and speaker presentaions are open to the public and free of charge.
