Join us January 22, 2025, 1pm, when our speaker, Joan, a local Master Gardener, will teach you the science of how and why compost works, and the amazing process of how it improves your soil and feeds your plants!
Joan will address the practical aspects of fitting a suitable composter into your available space and schedule, so you can make and use compost with confidence!
Joan says that she has always enjoyed “playing in the dirt” and watching things grow. Even though she has a science background, she has been surprised by the things she has learned about the composting process, and how it improves the quality of the soil. Over the years, Joan has tried a variety of different composting systems, and experimented with different ways to use the finished compost in seed propagation mixes, potting soil, and at planting time. She is excited to share some of the most interesting and useful insights with you.
The club meeting runs from 1-3pm. Speakers’ presentations generally starts a bit after 1pm; the club’s meeting follows.
The public is welcome to attend any of the club’s General Meetings and speaker presentations for free. Anyone may join the club with full membership privileges for $12/year.
