Floral Arrangements and/or Fascinator Hats by YOU! Nov 15, 2023, 1-3pm

The “Community Garden Club of Camas Washougal’s” November meeting is ONE WEEK EARLY, Nov 15th, starting at 1pm,  to avoid conflict with the Thanksgiving holiday.

We will be making floral arrangements and something new, too – fascinator hats for the holidays!  Make just one or both, if you like.  It will be fun!

OVERVIEW:

Following light snacks and a short business meeting, our talented member, Sandra, who recently retired as a florist, will give us a brief overview of how to create gorgeous flower arrangements.   Suzzanne and Cathy, who are both adept crafters, will follow with guidance on how to create a fascinator hat.   Then we’ll all go back to our tables to make our individual floral arrangements and/or hats.

If you have extra materials, please bring them to share with others in the “general” areas, too!

FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS:

The club will provide oasis and some flowers.  Sandra will provide guidance.

YOU should bring a vase or other container plus your shears/pruners, ribbons and any greens and flowers from your yard. Dried pods, pine cones, fresh or dried flowers, twigs, leaves, branches (holly, cedar, fir), woody products, feathers, berries, and anything you would like to add to your creation are fine.

FASCINATOR HATS:

Club members Suzzanne and Cathy will bring their glue guns and some ribbons and decorations to share.

YOU should bring  small piece(s) of stretch fabric (1/4 yard), 2 small alligator clips for each hat  (available at Walmart’s craft area), any type of decorations, ribbons, flowers,  regular scissors, fabric scissors and/or wire clippers and a glue gun, if you have them.  If you do not have all the items, please bring what you have and we’ll figure it out and make it work!

(Unsure about this whole “thing”? Feel free to ask for help from others.  I’ve got zero decorating talent, but, go home with a lovely floral arrangement every year thanks to the kindness of more talented members! – B.R.)

Not a member?  No problem!  Anyone can join the club at any meeting.  And any member of the public can attend meetings to hear speaker presentations without being a member.

The club will provide coffee and hot water/tea and a light snack; feel free to bring a snack or lunch if you’d like.
