Micki Stauffer, Master Gardener, will be presenting a program on “Trilliums, Our Native Treasures” at our March 23, 2022 Community Garden Club of Camas Washougal meeting.
Trilliums are a passion for Micki and her husband Larry. They have been all over this country (and others!) exploring the world of Trilliums and meeting other Trillium fanatics.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, the first Trilliums to bloom are the harbingers of spring. Many of us know them as the Easter Lily of the Woods. There are about 50 species of Trilliums on earth – 38 of them are found here in North America – all beautiful!!
In addition to Micki’s slide presentation, she will bring some examples of currently blooming Trilliums, perhaps including Trillium kurabayashii, aka Giant Purple Wake Robin.
There will be some Trilliums for sale at this meeting; a sort of mini pre plant sale! So, you, too can have beautiful Trilliums in your own garden.
