The “Community Garden Club of Camas Washougal” is pleased to announce our first speaker of 2021, Stephanie Beach, co-owner of “One Earth Botanical Nursery” who will speak on “Creating Raised Garden Beds with Seasonal Interest”. (Speaker begins at NOON.)
Stephanie will share her knowledge and methods on how to create new garden beds that, as she says, “focus on a progression of blooms and multi-season interest – Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.”
She will “showcase plants that span the seasons as well as certain plants that are particularly interesting during specific times and how to incorporate a nice mix in a border so there is always something interesting. This is a bit of a departure from focusing on all the bloomy Spring stuff we all are drawn to buy, sometimes on impulse,” says Stephanie.
She points out that attendees will see both “successes and failures, look at mature plants in the landscape, new and established garden beds and see some great new (plant) introductions that are available at this nursery and/or other nearby nurseries.”
She will discuss shade as well as sun and difficult planting issues like no irrigation gardens.
